Frankly speaking, mortgage is a loan where you use your house as collateral. Your house becomes your backup just in case something come up an you are unable to continue the payments or refinance mortgage.

Once you decided to take a mortgage, it’s very important that you find a good and reliable mortgage broker, because you’ll be working with this broker for a long time. And we don’t really know what will happen in the future. There’s always a chance that something might come up in the future. There might be times when you have to decide whether you have to refinance mortgage or not, or maybe times when you’re unable to pay the loan, etc.

A good broker should have a good attitude and also deep knowledge about mortgage. See if your broker are flipping through a book every few minutes to look up terms and arrangements. If he/she does, then this is not a good sign. You can also trying asking them a few questions about mortgage such as the terms of mortgage, refinance mortgage, mortgage rate, or else. When you feel comfortable with this broker, then you can go on. Otherwise, find another broker.
